    Re: what would you do?

I agree with the idea of using your handicap on this hole, but you can still be brave, it may pay off.

Drive to the dogleg, hit to the green.

OK it may get the greenside sand trap but it may not,
if it does three out and chance of a par or bogey putt,
if it hits the green birdy or par putt.
if it misses the lot then scrabble.

      Re: what would you do?

      answered my own question tonight!
i swung easy and hit a nice draw slightly left of centre ain the fairway but probably 15 yards further than before.
when i got to the ball i could see the top half of the flag.
i hit a 9 iron to the green and then 2 putted.
so in future just got to make sure i hit a solid drive far enough so i can see the flag.

played the front 9 only carded a 42

Nice work Slats! 42 is my PB.

Do you have a plan for if you don't hit a nice little draw?

          hi ben
          yes!
i have sort of scanned the background to the hole so that if i hit my drive short then i can visualize where the green is.
driving is erratic at the moment in a good way!
i hit 2 drives tonight straight as a die that just kept soaring! never known the ball to hang up there so long.
hit two draws and one slight fade but all were in the fairway

            Just a thought...

Now you know the point on the fairway where your 9I gets you home, when next you play and you're not quite as far down and can't see the pin, jest reference the point to where you were where you could see the pin and add clubs as needed...

20yards further back, 2 (maybe 3) more clubs...

            Might work...???

            Cheers

              hi craig
              thats the plan!
i have really scrutinised that hole, should be approached more to the left as it slopes away from the left hand bunker!
i will be a lot more confident when playing that hole in future.

as i was waiting to tee off on the 6th another guy playing solo approached the tee so i invited him to join me.
while we were waitiing to tee off we were chatting and he asked what i played off so i told him 22, we only played to the 9th i scored 4,5,5,4

when we shook hands on the 9th he said "22? my arse!" and then announced he's on the handicap committee
