    Re: What Irons?

The S400's would bring your swingweight up, which may change your release point.

Check your irons for loft and lie. Check the bounce against the Mizuno website. You do NOT want to bend any more than 1 less what the bounce is.

In other words, if you have 3° bounce, you only want to bend 2° strong. Otherwise you end up with a digger club.

      Re: What Irons?

I had mine strengthened 1 degree and have the S300's and I find Ive got the nice low ball flight I want for links golf. Having said that it did take me quite a while to get used to the lack of offset compared to my old set of ping eye 2's.

I just need some wedges now (im still using my old ping eye2's which are PW 50.5, SW 57.5 LW 61!

Ive tried out virtually every wedge I think there is and have decided on the MpT series (Im turning into Mizunoman!) but what would you recommend I use as a set up

I have a mp fli hi 2 iron which I love so only got room for SW LW and with my PW at 47 deg what loft/bounce set up would you guys recommend.
      Here are the options:

      47/06 Pitching Wedge
51/06 Strong lofted gap wedge with medium bounce
53/08 Standard lofted gap wedge with medium bounce
56/10 Standard lofted sand wedge with medium bounce
56/13 Standard lofted sand wedge with high bounce
58/10 Strong lofted lob wedge with ample bounce to be used as a sand/lob wedge
60/05 Standard lofted lob wedge with low bounce
60/08 Standard lofted lob wedge with medium bounce

      Any help appreciated!
      Thanks

        Re: What Irons?

        Prowlesta,

(If you haven't already bought em), Why don't you get 3 wedges (obviously depending on your budget)? I currently play a 53/08 Cleveland 588 and 60/03 Cleveland 588 but I'm looking into getting a 56/14 of some manufacturer so that I gain some options for different ground conditions?

In my opinion, the 51/06 is too close to the 47/06 (I hit my 47 135 yards and mt 53/08 115 yards, so a 51 would prob go about 120 but would leave a gap with your 56,58 or 60? I tend to play my wedges as the 53 for longer sand shots and shots down to around 50/60 yards and then use either wegde for chips depending on the lie etc. The 56/14 will hit about 105 yards.
