metaphorgolf,
I went to your website and looked around. Honesty, I couldn't find the connection between Count Yogi and metaphor golf. Is there a connection? Or are you simply just a fan of the World's Greatest Golfer of All Generations?
fun
"I have always been a consistently straight golf-ball hitter because I have eliminated virtually every idea suggested in numerous instruction articles in books, magazines and newspapers. I keep the swing simple and think only of being relaxed, graceful and smooth." - Count Yogi
"A player should use the same system each time he approaches the ball and prepares to assume his stance. This is a most important factor in the golf swing. It should become a habit, what I call an infallible mental routine. Once mastered, the routine will do much not only to make the player look graceful but to assure relaxation and inspire confidence as he prepares to make his shot. This can be accomplished in five simple steps..." - Count Yogi
Supposedly, Mike Austin and the Count knew each other fairly well. I have often suspected that they feed off one another. Mike Austin has a video called "Golf Is Mental Imagery." I have never seen it, but I wonder if it is related to what the Count preaches.
In response to your quote from Austin - "We want supple quickness, not rigid slowness." - I offer the following quote from the Count.
"You should always be loose, boneless, muscleless, effortless... You can control it (the clubhead) faster when you are loose, than if you have power, because power is rugged and strong - like boxers, weightlifters, wrestlers who are powerful and strong, but slow. And a little fella' comes along and zooooooom!... he knocks the ball out of sight, because he has rhythm."

As Mike said, (he supinates his right hand at the top) once you do this motion, that clubhead it gone, its is free, unconnected. "you try to keep up with the club and your dead"
he also said, if you relax, your hand and arm will return to the state at which they were at adress faster and more accuratley than you could if you tried. (paraphrase) that is why you wind it up in the BS and relax it back.
Another "greatest of his time"... Bruce Lee
"Empt your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put in in teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow, and it can crash. Be water my friend."
