I am getting a bit of a reputation as having a driver fetish as I have purchased yet another this week A mate of mine had a driver fitting session at the Belfry recently and although he went there to get a Ping G5 he returned with a Taylormade Burner. I have hit a few balls with his Burner at the range and was very impressed on the distance and ball flight I had with it. I saw a new one on Ebay, bid for it and picked it up for £92, around half what my mate paid for his . Coupled with my improved ball contact I hit some really impressive drives last night, cant wait to get out on the course the weekend.

    Hi Brian,

I invested earlier this year after a full fitting, I have the Burner Driver and three wood.............................Very good clubs indeed, also glad to hear you game is getting stronger by the day with the 3SKs.

I have the R7 TP irons too if your thinking of an iron change now you have marks on your old ones in the wrong place LOL

    Cheers

    Ian.

Have had my book over a week now but tonight was the first time that I could get to the range. No leaves at our range so I took some pumpkin seeds! I just concentrated on the contact and angle of attack as the book says and the pumpkin seeds were flying up the range. I then tried it with a ball and pumpkin seed and that was just the same. So I hit a few ball without the seeds. 7 out of 10 were great. Good distance with slight draw. I then incorporated skill 2. I did not hit the headcover at all. So, I guess that I did not suffer from the out to in swing anyway. This was all with a 9 iron, then onto a 6 iron and then tried the driver with the different angles of attack. I was delighted with the results. I know it is early days and I have only tried it once. Also I have not taken it to the course yet so that could be a disaster. Also I have not tried skill 3. It just seemed to be happening anyway. So might try that next time. This is just my view in case anyone is not sure whether to invest in the book or not.

Glad to hear your first trial gave some satisfactory results Brian. I know you were a little nervous about purchasing the book. I see no reason why you should not be able to take it to the course.

Glad to here more success (may it carry on to the course for you).
Well I am trying to go for 18 tomorrow, been at the range Wednesday hit a basket of balls and my back held up ok with no after effects. We have a society comp Friday so if all is well YIPPEE
Unfortunately I have not been able to use the drills so I am going to go to the course with just the knowledge from reading the book
                    Hoping for 2 things
                    • Back holds up ok
                    • Clean ball striking
The accuracy n distance control will be an added bonus if it happens.
Wish me luck dudes let you know over the week end
How you two do in the medal ? you aint posted so

Well had our last society comp yesterday and good news the back was okay and its just a little stiff this morning.
Like I said I havnt been able to do the 3skills drills but I went there having read the book 7 or 8 times. The day was sunny no wind and a course I have never played before.
Ball striking was great I just over hit a few and hooked 3 or 4 irons left, driving was awesome averaged 270 with the longest being 305 (I know this exact cos I drove a 305 yard par 4)and a total of 30 putts.
Now I know I can get to the range without pain, I will be able to get used to distance control and get rid of that hook by adjusting my grip.
I won with 36 stableford points off 14 handicap (11 shots as we play 3/4 handicap).
The best thing I dont even get cut due to only playing to my handicap so it gives me a slight advantage next year

                          Cheers peeps

Haven't received my copy yet, but have been dedicating this past week to focusing on teachings by Shawn Clement (on youtube) and have had an absolute ball striking session; and today finally back in the 70's.

I'll still be anxiously waiting for the 3skills to show up, but hopefully it won't mess up my solid play by messing with my head. Btw, shot 73 (70) and my dad played fairly well, shooting 82.
