    Cmays

Of course you are correct, people are built differently and a good coach will consider this along with age, flexibility etc.

Nick teaches a one plane swing, he likes the club to be always pointing along the extended ball to target line, where I am a bit in between that and an upright swing.

    Great debate, thanks.

[quote=BrianW] all his weight is on the back foot. OK, this can work when hitting with a driver off a tee but I would not like to try it with a mid iron or wedge.quote]

why is his right heal off the ground at impact?

It's not in this picture, and is his weight on the back with a reverse C.

Re: level hips, a myth or not

"It is conventional thinking because it's correct. Whatever inclination the belt line has at address should be maintained throughout the swing, otherwise balance is disturbed"

If this were true then the right shoulder would not point more towards the ball on the downswing (shortly after impact) then it did near the top of the backswing. The only way to do that without changing the level of the hips would be to have a huge sidebend curve in the spine.

With the pictures you provided of MA, I dont beleive his right heal is on the ground and the picture is not clear enough to show one way or the other.

SOme of it I am having a hard time following. Usually I read it a couple times and have a better understanding, I will get back with you later
            adios
ps. some of the stuff is just plain ****. SOme guy wanted to sell me some 200 hybrid shaft and did not even know the specks on the true temper SL shafts. My question was why would I pay 190 more for a shaft that weighs the same as the SL which I can get for $10, the salesman said "I dont have the answer to taht but I can let you talk with.....

If I am not mistaken Colin Montgomery swings this way, not to the extent Mike does, but based on the same principle of swing, with hip tilt and locking hips back and through.
