Re: Standing Straighter Up Cause No Slice for Driver?

I might be of help but then again........One thing that finally made sense to me last night was about the hips......On the backswing to the top say they are 45*,well when they say the downswing starts with a bump of the left hip, that bump also has to be 45* which would put that angle across the target line and drops the right shoulder and everything moves from inside out.

    Hope that makes sense

thanks for the input though...but what your simply saying is...if i get my hips through too quickly before my hands come through...its making my club swing outside to in because of the angle pointing to the left..so when i hit the ball straight..that means my hips ..shoulders..and clubface are all flat to the target when i make contact...because i was also starting to hit a little outside in with my irons but it was easily fixed...much easier to fix an iron than it is to fix a driver

            Heres what I think FWIW

. You overswing badly because you are simply throwing your hands/arms away from you on the backswing, sliding backwards and then not clearing your hips on the DS- OTT. I think your posture, distance fronm the ball etc is OK. Make sure your stance width isnt too wide.

What you could try is learning to rotate the body and LIFT the arms - this is the correct backswing pivot

            Try this

            - With a club stand facing the ball and feel like you lift your arms straight up (over the right shoulder) by lifting from your forearms. Might also feel like you are pulling up with your right hand fingers so your right thum points behind you

-Without the lift movement try and feel you you turn away from the ball leading with your abs/hips. Get the left shoulder behind the ball. Turn but dont slide - feel centrered over the ball

-Now combine both these movements. Turn and lift. Because your arms are now going up and not thrown sideways you should stop overswinging. Check in a mirror that your left arm is on the shoulder plane and you havent broken your wrists

Now from the top your hands should 'feel' higher and your hips/shoulders turned. Imagine you have now opened a 'lane' or a channel where there is now a space for your hands and arms to come down close to your right hip working the club at the inside quarter of the ball. Make sure you work the club down this channel with your hips/body and not your hands. Let them get moved down this lane by thr turning back of your coil. This is now coming from the inside

Of course this will feel very strange to you so you'll have to work at it but this will stop you being so arms/hands led which is where your problems probably stem from
