    Tiger Woods

    Ok Guys,

    I have kept quite long enough, I thought (no prayed) it was all paper talk.

    I must put to press that I am gutted yes GUTTED!!

    I was bitterly disappointed to miss Tiger at the Open this year after travelling through the night on Friday. I have not yet had the opportunity to watch him play.
    I must say the Ryder Cup next year is on my calender as a 'must' however I now feel a little let down by him and his failed moral standards.

    He has got more wealth than anyone can dream off, the wife to die for! (although mine is rather nice too) he has two lovely children and many homes and holidays away from the best job in the world. Furthermore he has led us all to believe he is a very strong upstanding pillar of his ethnic mixed community and a fine example to any sportsman who finds himself in a position of wealth.

    I like watching Tiger play golf and will again in the future.

    I have absolutely no interest in his private life or public image but I do hope he and his family can get through their current problems, what ever they are.

      I sort-of agree with the above.

      I have absolutely no interest in his private life. I just think he is one of the greats when it comes to playing golf. The press have put him on a pedestal as being an upstanding moral god-like creature, and guess what... He's human like the rest of us.

      I would guess many guys with huge wealth, status, and popularity have women all over them all of the time when they're out socializing, and I would also guess that if any one of us were put in some of the same situations, our moral judgements may slip also.

      I just say "Wow ! What a golfer !!"

      And why couldn't I be him ??

        Tiger Woods on his day the best talent in golf, thats how i will always think of him, his personal life is his personal life between him and his family.

        away from the golf course he has been found out to be just another man flaws and all.

        how many pro sportsmen over the many years have been serial womanisers, drug cheats, alcoholics and yet are still venerated to this day.

        i hope tiger can sort out his problems and come back and sort out these hand wringers and media parasites.

        as long as it's not in the ryder cup ........

          I too like his golf. As for his alleged zeal for committing adultery, that's an issue for him and his family to work out, and is the side of the fence I sit on.

          Problem is his sponsors have paid him millions because of both his on course, and off course persona. Customers of those sponsors spent millions on products endorsed by him, again because of both his on, and off course persona. It's going to be the "perception" of wrong doing that is going to hurt sponsors, the PGA, and other pro golf players. The infamous "guilt by association" classification. The perception of a double standard is already making it tough on him, and all those associated with him, in this fiasco.

          We had dinner with the other night with a past PGA player, and his wife of over 50 years. I about choked on my food when she blurted out that Tiger makes the current PGA look like a bunch of "whore mongering rich dudes, Cialis commercials not with standing". Again it's perception, that is going to be a problem for Tiger's inner, and outer circle. GJS

            I've seen comparisons drawn between the fanbase being forgiving and John Daly (with the expectation being that they'll forgive Tiger).

            The issue with this logic, however, is that Mr. Daly never pretended to be something he's not; he was a "what you see is what you get" type - which resonates with normal people. He has problems just like you and me - likes his wine, women and golf just like you and me, and struggles from time to time with all 3 (just like us).

            I think that the best plan for Tiger would be to have these ladies caddy for him. In their bikinis. I think most of the male fans would forgive him.

              Ah yes... Wine, women, and golf. I believe that was a 'Dean Martin' album !

              The difference between wine, women and golf:

              One is intoxicating, can be very addictive, can be very bad for you if used too much, and also very expensive !

              Oh no ! That's all 3 !!

                I know as adults we can say that his private life is his own and separate from his profession. But what about the kids who look up to him and what to be like Tiger. He has worked alot with kids and different foundations he has supported and donated to. He is a role model to alot of them now what do you tell them. I for one am dissapointed in Tiger. I will watch him play but I will be looking at him in a different light.

                  I think he taught us an good unintendeded lesson. well two of them.

                  Don't judge a book by it's cover, whether that be good or bad judgement.

                  wealth, talent, fame, hot wife, and family isn't everything its cracked up to be. It is all an attemp to fill a void in our lives, which can only be filled be the creater that put that void in us and created us purely to have a relationship with Him (God), and that is the only thing that will fill that void.

                  None of those things above are bad, but its not going to fill any voids, though many attempt that very thing and add alcohol and drugs and even religion, in attempt to fill that void.

                      I have just been checking a few references, can't find anything that says Tiger's antics are illegal, found a whole bunch that says Tiger's antics are pretty stupid. I know I have seen a video that shows Tiger walking on water, but I reckon that was trick photography I for one will always be a Tiger fan same as I am a John Daly fan for the sheer brilliance and excitement that these guys bring to the ancient game and bugger me I thought I would also let you know that I have just returned from a successful day out on the fairways and that my Tiger endorsed Nike Sasquatch still works

                        I enjoy golf, that is why I like to lurk around and read tips, though I am not very good. As said above, there is nothing wrong with golf.

                        Though any chance I get to tell people the good news, I have to take it. Some people have never heard that before, that is why I say it, but if you don't believe it, that is fine, my job is not to convince you of anything, just to inform those who haven't heard or have been brainwashed or turned away or looked down upon by man or church or other religions.

                          If Tiger would've ignored me, I would've been happy to ignore him. Instead, for the last ten years, he's bombarded me with TV commercials, print ads, magazine covers, product endorsements, PSAs, and charity requests. Buy what I sell. Read what I say. Do as I ask. LOOK AT ME! Well, he sowed it, now he can reap it.

                          On an aside, I bet half the guys on tour were deleting their voice mails and texts and clearing out their address books when this story first broke.

                          And Mickelson, especially, better be clean as a whistle.

                            There are some American states that have laws that make adultery while married to another illegal. Not sure if Florida, or the states TW managed to have these "transgressions" in have those laws still on the books. However, these are very old laws, and very seldom if at all are enforced. The Ambien drug thing would be against the law if a person using the drug does not have script for it. since it is has been alleged that he and a partner used the drug, if one of them did have a script for it's use, one of them broke a law, and the other, with the script broke a law, by aiding, and abetting the other with out the script. Of course nothing will come of either of these "transgressions" against the laws of state. GJS
