So I decided whilst he had a celebratory drink (he beat me by one shot, I usually beat him!) I went to practise. And low and behold, I tried the drill you guys suggested and it worked (well most of the time). Even got within 2 inches of sinking one from about 100 meters!!!! Only trouble was I kept loosing coins!
I have found it a big mistake to just arrive at the course and go right to the first tee. If you are warming up on the first few holes your obviously losing strokes. It always seemed to take me 3-4-6 holes to feel loose and confident. So I started arriving early and practicing for 45 minutes or so. A bit of chipping and putting then a wedge or two, a long iron, a hybrid and a driver on the range. Warmed up, loose, confident= ready to tee off.

Well guys, I finally got to the course, and boy what a difference!!!!

I'm hitting a 7 iron now where I used to use a 5! And I get quite a lot of height too....I'm so grateful...thanks so much. I look at the ball flying through the air with utter amazement, "christ I did that"!!....I just can't get over it....wow I want to have another go asap!

The only problem now is learning to not over hit my irons!!! I kept smacking my pitching iron far to far for the first couple of holes, even with a shorter swing and chocking down on the club. I'll need to practice that now

      Thanks again so much
