Hud,
What a great post, I agree that as long as there is a good set-up and alinement, simply let go of all swing thoughts and focus on the task.........hitting the ball correctly as per the book.
Good to hear it is working for you.
Ian.

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!
This is my third week since I bought the 3Skills book, and now I will give you my version of what it all means to me. I am pleased I bought it, as a high handicapper I do not hesitate to recommend it to other high handicappers. The author gives his reason why you should concentrate on these 3 skills, being that there are many different types of swings out there, but all good golfers have these 3skills in common. So if you can achieve these skills, it really dose not matter how you do it, just the fact that you are doing it, he tells us to forget thinking about your swing, go to the ball and nail it.
It is my contention that you have to think of your swing until such time that you have perfected delivering the clubhead to impact, as per 3skills. I myself, am still working on skill one, hitting down with my irons, I found that I was turning my shoulders too flat to hit down as required, so I have had to work on turning my shoulders to swing more upward, while still turning to the inside, the point I am making is that if you have problems with your swing that makes completing the 3 skills correctly, be it your stance, posture, backswing, downswing or throughswing, don’t go running elsewhere for the answer, do the exercises shown in the book for each skill, which one you are not doing correctly and what do to change that, as I have done. I don’t know about forgetting about all swing thoughts, I don’t think that is possible until I feel comfortable with the 3skills. I am not doing anything special at this time bit I do feel I am playing a lot better and will keep improving as I get more used to it. I have only recommended this book to high handicappers as I do not feel that I am in a position to recommend anything to anybody with much lower handicaps than myself, I will leave that to others and I am sure you can draw your own conclusions from all that’s been said on this forums. I have bought and read many books etc; this one is the simplest and the one that makes me think the hardest about what I am doing. All the best to everyone, happy golfing.

had all my irons adjusted and just back from the range
not the best conditions at the range but the adjustments have done the trick, the strike just feels a lot more solid which produced a penetrating flight with very little effort
i was sticking my PW shots right on the flag!

should be ok if you went to a flatter lie, a strong grip often makes it harder to turn the wrists with a one plane swing, a flatter lie should work good with your 3sk as it complements the that type of system.
maybe you should try and find an old flatter lie club and give one a try on the range next to the one your clubs you now using and it it works then get your clubs changed.
you will feel that your swinging flatter and may feel strange at first but maybe like me it will help you game a lot,
worth a try

ill speak to the pro at my club and ask if he can sort out a test club for me to try.
