Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!
I have not read the Nail It book, yet. Trying to simplify the golf swing is a very, very difficult task...especially in book form. I am a very visual type person and verbal explainations fail to work for me. I usually get it when someone shows me. Is there anyone in the states that teach this "revolutionary concept". I sure would like to see or have someone teach the concept to me in person.
Thanks,
Golfseeker

Nicely put, Bill - spot on
How strange the world is... My Grandma said, "It takes all sorts to make a world," and also, "There's nowt so queer as folk," as I suspect she was right on both counts.
I suppose at some point I'll have to read the blessed thing so I can offer some sort of informed opinion. Normally, offering un-informed opinions doesn't bother me, but I want to be on best behaviour...

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!
hi Trad
the fact the Joe Hagen is part of the staff and he has a book that is talked about here a lot don't make this site any the less valued, in fact a lot of members get great pleasure and help from this site that have never read the book. i have not read the book but i have never been pressured into buying or reading the book by anyone and have never been shown anything help from the many that use his book when i have said there book wont work for me.
i do think you have it so wrong about this and you should stick around a bit longer to see just how helpful this site is to everyone that asks for help in any way. even people like me that have a swing that only a few in the world use i find the help here immense and have chatted about 3sk a lot and fond a great deal of help about 3sk from mostly Brian but also many other who use this system.
if you want to learn and to get more out this site then join in the discussion and put your views as you see them, every one is entitled to there views and I think you will find with time that you do have it wrong and hope you stick around to find that out.
cheers
bill

Well, a few minutes ago I took some time to go through this web site, which is something I did not do when I stumbled on it a few days ago, and discovered that Joe Hagan is a member of the Golf Tuition On-Line staff.
I think I'm going to bail on this forum. My participation will just clogg up the Nail it network.

Stating that a golf book needs listing on Amazon to have credibility is the same kind of thinking that suggests that only Callaway, TM, or Ping clubs are worth playing with because the component makers don't have celeb golfer endorsements.
It so happens that a number of people on here, whose opinion you might have learnt to respect (even Slats) if you been here longer than 13 posts, have had first hand experience of 3 skills teaching and their games have improved as part of the experience.
It is their enthusiasm for others to benefit that has led to this thread (out of 60,000+) to be popular at the moment.
There are others on the forum, just as valued, for whom it hasn't worked out, or for whom its not appropriate, or who are following a different path, and their posts get equal air time on here - hardly a 3 Skills network then.
So sure feel free to take your intolerance and cynicism somewhere else, you wont be missed.

well done it only took you 13 posts to diss the site
do us a favour and bail out
this forum has always had pro,s on the staff and they offer advice for no return.
joe,s book has turned a lot of people's game around and so your accusations of colusion are way off track and offensive

I added the underline for emphasis.
So the method is comprised of time tested concepts that have been presented in a revolutionary way. I'm fine with that, but why does the website take the "trust me" approach by not revealing anything of substance? After reading the information on the web site I don't have the foggiest notion of what this system is all about. I find that troubling.

All I can tell you is that I am a low handicap golfer but managed to make significant improvements to my ball striking by really understanding how to hit the ball on the sweetspot of any club consistently.

I am interested in adding this book to my golf library, but here are a few comments and questions.
I don't understand number 1.
If I do understand the meaning of number 2, that concept is at least 100 years old if not older. It is related to an ancient concept often called the swing circle.
Number 3 is also a very old concept. It was recently refashioned by A.J. Bonar and packaged as a new revolutionary concept.
I visited the website and it gave no information about the concepts only rave reviews. I am always a bit worried about the "trust me I have found the secret" golf instruction web sites.
Please explain how the concepts are revolutionary. I hope I'm wrong and would embrace any worthwhile new way to improve my swing.

The book simplifies what are the important things that constitute good ball striking, it explains it in a way that we mortals can understand, it gives us drills that we can use to learn how to strike the ball well and last but not least it allows us to let go of all those complicated, constricting swing thoughts that impede our progress.
That's just about what it is.
EDIT:
What is different is the teaching methods.Last edited by BrianW; 10-25-2007, 04:03 PM.

The point I was making was that if you watch Moe's wrists they are moving from well open to closed through impact.

Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!
A good observation Bri.
From this one may presume that Moe played with a slight draw/straight, but we can't see the clubface in relation to his grip in those images.
I would say from that link that he is definately using his right hand a bit through impact n that particular shot. Hence why I think he may have been a drawer of the ball. For a straight one, he'd probably seem to hold it off a bit more (by comparison).
We can now only really surmise unfortunately.
