Great to hear Brian! Glad the putts were dropping - beautifully, by the sound of it.
Thanks Ian.
Yes they were, it seemed that anything within 8 feet just had to go in. The other pleasing part with the score (Kinda!) was that I hit two balls out of bounds due to over-clubbing.
Hard to judge it was 1st time played for me, very tight and the greens small and very undulating, but i have had better on my local but thats really easy. I also scored 42 points at Bedale that won me the society golfer of the year in 2006, but again I have played that a few times. But it was the best I have ever played with my irons it was crisp clean wonderful feeling in the hands. Yes I hooked a few but my grip is not perfect.
I thin k its work at the range on my grip and distance control
Look out GTO Event next year
Cheers Keith
Haven't received my copy yet, but have been dedicating this past week to focusing on teachings by Shawn Clement (on youtube) and have had an absolute ball striking session; and today finally back in the 70's.
I'll still be anxiously waiting for the 3skills to show up, but hopefully it won't mess up my solid play by messing with my head. Btw, shot 73 (70) and my dad played fairly well, shooting 82.
Well had our last society comp yesterday and good news the back was okay and its just a little stiff this morning.
Like I said I havnt been able to do the 3skills drills but I went there having read the book 7 or 8 times. The day was sunny no wind and a course I have never played before.
Ball striking was great I just over hit a few and hooked 3 or 4 irons left, driving was awesome averaged 270 with the longest being 305 (I know this exact cos I drove a 305 yard par 4)and a total of 30 putts.
Now I know I can get to the range without pain, I will be able to get used to distance control and get rid of that hook by adjusting my grip.
I won with 36 stableford points off 14 handicap (11 shots as we play 3/4 handicap).
The best thing I dont even get cut due to only playing to my handicap so it gives me a slight advantage next year
Cheers peeps

Glad to here more success (may it carry on to the course for you).
Well I am trying to go for 18 tomorrow, been at the range Wednesday hit a basket of balls and my back held up ok with no after effects. We have a society comp Friday so if all is well YIPPEE
Unfortunately I have not been able to use the drills so I am going to go to the course with just the knowledge from reading the book
Hoping for 2 things
Back holds up ok
Clean ball striking
The accuracy n distance control will be an added bonus if it happens.
Wish me luck dudes let you know over the week end
