Re: i used the 3 skills and nailed it!

    Cheers Ian

I tried to get into golf about 5 years ago, but didn't have the patience to stick at it. Now that I am a bit older (and a lot more patient!), I seem to have become completely addicted! Wish I'd kept it up 5 years ago, might have been able to hit the ball into the fairways by now!!

The weather is getting a bit better here now, so I'm looking forward to spending a fair bit of time on the course. Hopefully all the advice I have been given will begin to pay off!

    Cheers
    Stevie

    Hi Big Jobs,

And welcome to the site, you are heading in the right direction then...!!!

All I would add is learn about alinement, setting up square to the target like railway lines.

You won't be disappointed with this sport, it's more addictive than heroin.

    Good Luck

    Ian.

Hi there, I'm a new member, living in Dundee Scotland. Only been playing for around 4 months and looking to get any help I can!! First thing I'll be doing tomorrow is ordering the 3 skills book. Nice!!

It was, and it was a joke , unless you turn up clutching a "22" and palying to a "12".

I videoed my swing a few weeks ago, it has changed somewhat a little flater than before but much more powerful, after over 10years of golf swing changes and working on one thing then another and inevitably back again to something I have worked on before........I am sure most of you have been there, with 3SKs I haven't had a single swing thought for 7 months, more a whole body feeling and of course impact focus.

The reason for this is that I have just broke 70 for the first time, it was off the winter tees (grass) but shorter course and proper greens, with 5 birdies I shot a 68, 2 under.

Has everyone else stuck with this??????????

Could the 3 skills team get the Setanta TV feature up loaded to their site?

I think everyone would be impressed.

    im sticking with it ian!
played st annes old links on friday in a society event in very testing conditions scored 35 points with 4 blobs! a rare sh*nk when well placed on a par 5 cost me a win!
generally im getting more FIR's and GIR's, my chipping and pitching has improved immensly but its off the tee where im most pleased. just missed out on the LD prize on friday, par 5, left to right crosswind i hit a storming 263yd draw

yes ian, same for me.... not the breaking 70 bit ... well done!!!
but the lack of swing thoughts and the increase in distance , just wish the weather would settle so i could get on the course a bit more.

Surely some reporter would have picked up on it by now.

It has been on Setanta TV, and been in Golf Punk a few times. I get what you mean, but to be honest, I think sometimes these things do take a while to really take off.
Hersham is a good golf club, but quite difficult to see. A lot of people don't realise it is there because it's down a little cul-de-sac thing! I was a bit confused first time I travelled down there! Its worth going though, won't find teaching like that anywhere else.
Spread the word people, and hopefully some more media coverage will follow! Or maybe we should just keep it as our little secret? Then we can become better players while everyone else struggles!

    Take it easy,
    Teddy G

    Hi Neil
It does make sense. Its to do with what the clubface looks like at impact. Applying downward pressure on the ball avoids "scooping" I think. But if you look in the book they have a lot of really good and clear diagrams.
If you think in a logical way, 3sk makes sense. Its based around Physics really - without being too complicated to pick up on straight away.
